Chile presidential election Date: 19 November 2017
Chilean Presidential Elections are to be held today i.e 19 november 2017. It is a South American Country mainly on the coastal side and has huge coast line. Main city being Santiago.
A general election in Chile is scheduled to be held, according to the Constitution, on Sunday 19 November 2017, including presidential, parliamentary and regional elections.
Voters will go to the polls to elect:
- A President of the Republic to serve a four-year term.
- Twenty three of 43 members of the Senate to serve an eight-year term in the National Congress.
- The full 155 members of the Chamber of Deputies to serve a four-year term in the
- National Congress.
- The full 278 members of the regional boards to serve a four-year term.
All the newly-elected authorities will begin their terms on 11 March 2018.

Results will be declared as soon as the voting ends. According to the Opinion Poll Piñera is Favourite of the voters. IF the voting percentage is not good then he might win.
First Round winner is Sebastián Piñera. Top 2 Candidates will go to second round to be held on 17 december 2017. So Sebastián Piñera and Alejandro Guillier will go to run off in second round and the winner will be chile president 2017.

- Voting will Start morning 7 am for Presidential Election, Senate Election and Chamber of Deputies elections.
- In the presidential race, if none of the candidates secure an bsolute majority of the valid votes, a runoff election is to be held on 17 December 2017. The Constitution bars Michelle Bachelet, the incumbent president, from seeking immediate reelection.

Following an election reform in 2015, the Chamber of Deputies will grow in size to 155 members from the current 120, while the Senate will increase its membership from 38 to 43 after this election, and to 50 following the election in 2021.

This will be the first non-primary election in which Chileans will be able to vote from abroad. Also, for the first time, a 40% gender quota will be established for candidates of each political party in parliamentary elections.

Current electoral system.Each electoral district and senatorial constituency directly elects two representatives. That is, 120 deputies and 38 senators, in total. Chile is the only country in the world with two-seat electoral districts nationwide.
