The city of Birmingham, Alabama, is holding elections for mayor and city council in 2017 on 22nd August for general elections.
All 9 seats on the city council are up for election, and incumbents are seeking re-election in every district except the ninth.
No candidate is unopposed, and there are 44 candidates running for the nine city council seats.
A general election will take place on August 22, 2017, with a runoff election if necessary on October 3, 2017.
Candidates elected in this election will be sworn in on October 24, 2017.
