National Parliamentary election Date: 25June 2017
The coming year is seen as crucial for Albania future with the new general elections that will determine a new government, and further action on all-important judicial reforms that are seen as key to the continuation of Albania's EU path.
After four years of centre-left government under Prime Minister, Edi Rama, Albania will hold a general election on June 18, 2017.
At the helm of his Socialist Party of Albania, Rama led a coalition of Socialist and left-wing parties to victory in the June 2013 parliamentary election, defeating the right-wing bloc of the previous premier, Sali Berisha.

Electoral system of Albania
The 140 members of Parliament will be elected in twelve multi-member constituencies based on the twelve counties using closed list proportional representation with an electoral threshold of 3% for parties and 5% for alliances.[2] Seats are allocated to alliances using the d'Hondt system, then to political parties using the Sainte-Laguë method.
Demographic changes led to some changes in the number of seats for some constituencies; Tirana gained two seats and Durrës one, whilst Korça, Berat and Kukës all lost a sea
