What we Know till now about Exit Polls
- Publishing exit polls before 10pm is illegal.- Section 66 of the Representation of the People Act 1983 prohibits the publication, before the close of poll, of any forecast, survey or estimate of how people have voted.
- TNS is supposedly going to publish a poll at 10pm on Thursday, but that is just “Election Day Voter Panel” consisting of only 200 people, and is only going to find reasons for any late swing, rather than make any prediction.
- The final online poll to be published ahead of announcement of results early Friday morning has put the Remain campaign in a healthy a 10-point lead over Leave.

- 3-4 a.m. – Results from half of UK .(50% voting done)

Which are the Latest Opinion Polls Announced before Election Started
- The Ipsos MORI survey shows 52 per cent REMAIN and 48 per cent LEAVE for a Brexit.- Sample Size: 1,592 people, it was carried out until 9pm last night.
- Latest YouGov poll came out and showed a modest lead of 51% to 49% for Remain
- As per The Independent, the Populus poll, conducted online and before voting opened, shows Remain on 55 percent and Leave on 45.
- Opinium Research’s final poll before the referendum, which asked around 3,000 people for their views, put Leave on 45 per cent and Remain on 44 per cent.
So far, almost all polls have put Remain ahead though within the margin of error for political surveys.
Last year, the exit poll announced when the polls closed at 10pm put the Conservatives on 316 seats and Labour on 239: the Tories ended up winning 15 more and Labour seven fewer.
