Portugal is a fairly linguistically and religiously homogeneous country. Members of PALOP countries (Portuguese-speaking African countries) are also a big group. Portuguese is spoken throughout the country, with only the villages of Miranda do Douro's Mirandese language recognised as a locally co-official language.

 

In 2010 Portugal had 10,572,721 inhabitants.
