Tridad Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Elections Schedule 2017
Tobago House of Assembly (THA) election will be held on Monday January 23, 2017.
A release from the Office of the Prime Minister announced yesterday that the President Anthony Carmona has fixed January 23 next year as the date for the election of members to serve in the THA. Consequently, nomination day will be January 3, 2017, the release stated.

- THE People's National Movement PNM Won in elections for the Tobago House of Assembly – For the 5th time.
- It is expected to have won 10 out of 12 seats.
- Tobago House of Assembly (THA) elections should start coming in from around 7.30 pm.
- Polling takes place from 6 am to 6 pm at stations in the 12 THA seats. Some 50, 227 Voters are eligible to vote.
- In March 2013 there was a record 60 % turnout with 48, 980 votes cast.
- A total of 39 candidates from four parties are contesting today from the PNM, PSA President Watson Duke’s Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), Christlyn Moore’s Tobago Forwards (TF) and former PNMite Eudine Job-Davis’ Movement for Transformation (MFT).

- Tobago Forwards political leader is Christlyn Moore
- Progressive Democratic Patriots is headed by Watson Duke promises to deal with long-standing issues affecting Tobago including housing, employment, self-governance, education and health.
- The People's National Movement (PNM) won all 12 seats in the last THA election held in January 2013. The Tobago Organisation of the People (TOP), one of the coalition parties in the former People's Partnership, which contested the election, got no seats in that election.

This time around the parties seeking to unseat the PNM are the Tobago Forwards which is led by former Partnership minister Christlyn Moore and the Progressive Democratic Party led by trade unionist Watson Duke.
