Oakland County communities reported light turnout on Election Day, Oakland County,Waterford Mott High School,Oakland County Election Result Live voting updates

With about six hours left in Election Day, a number of Oakland County communities reported light turnout Tuesday afternoon.

Lee Ann O’Connor, Rochester city clerk, said 219 voters had cast ballots as of 1:30 p.m. The city has about 10,200 registered voters.

Counting absentee ballots returned, voter turnout was at about 9 percent early Tuesday afternoon, she said.

County election officials projected that about 25 percent of voters would go the polls, a typical result for an August primary election.

At about 10 a.m., the polls had been open for three hours at precinct 10 at Congregation Beth Ahm in West Bloomfield Township, but only 43 voters had cast ballots, election workers said. The precinct has nearly 3,000 registered voters.

In Oakland Township, Sue Grubba said new voting booths are being used.
