Ontario District 1 Canadian municipal by election 2017 Results Live Voting. The 2017 Ontario District 1 municipal by-election will take place on May 15, 2017.
The seat of councillor for District 1 – Countryside for the City of Kingston was declared vacant by council at its meeting held on Dec. 20, 2016. On Feb. 7, 2017, council passed a bylaw to hold a by-election to fill the vacant seat. The by-election to elect a councillor for District 1 – Countryside will be held on May 15, 2017. Following appointment by council, the new councillor will serve from the time he/she takes the Oath of Office, to the end of this term of council (Nov. 30, 2018).
Ontario District 1 Canadian municipal by election 2017 Voting Live
- Those eligible to vote in the municipal by-election to choose a councillor for District 1 – Countryside District can do so in person or online starting May 6.
- Vote by Internet from 10 a.m. on May 6 (Advance Voting Day) until 8 p.m. on May 15 (Voting Day). Electors can:
- follow the Internet voting instructions on their Voter Information Notice or
- select the "Voters" button at www.CityofKingston.ca/city-hall/elections and follow the links to get to the Internet voting page.
- Note: registration for Internet voting closes at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 15 but electors can vote until 8 p.m.

Results will be announced once the voting gets over by 7 PM and the counting starts.
