French Conservatives Primary Polls 2016 Voting Live Results Opinion
Europe, France November 19, 2016,The next French presidential election is scheduled to be held in April and May 2017. The first round of the vote will be held on April 23, with the run-off between the top two candidates on May 7.

Nicolas Sarkozy defeated in Sunday's first conservative primary that chooses the nominee for next year’s presidential election. Latest Reports showed Francois Fillon with 44% of the vote, Alain Juppe with 28% and Sarkozy at 20%, with more than 3.2 million votes counted of an estimated total over 5 million, the Associated Press reported. Sarkozy asked his supporters to vote for Fillon in next Sunday's runoff between Francois Fillon and Alain Juppe .
Winner of Conservatives Second Round elections would probably be facing Marine Le Pen of the far-right National Front in the second round of the presidential election next May. Socialist supporters would probably elect Marine Le pen instead of François Hollande, due to his huge unpopularity. The Socialist Party will hold a two-round primary in January.
Republican Primary Dates
Presidential primary for Republican on Sunday First Round: November 20 2016.
If no candidate gets at least 50% of the vote, there will be a run-off vote on Sunday
Second Round: November 27 2016.
The contest is expected to be a battle between Mr Juppé and Mr Sarkozy, the French opposition party’s political heavyweights.

The Internet-based survey – Sample size – 18,000 voters, with the questions on the primaries narrowed to 1,337 people certain to take part showed Juppe winning.
A separate Ifop-Fiducial poll for Sud Radio showed – Juppe getting 31 % of votes in the first round of the primaries on Sunday, versus 30 percent for Sarkozy and 27 percent for Fillon.9 January between the two candidates with the most votes should no candidate win 50 percent of the vote.
The 2017 French Socialist Party presidential primary will be held to select candidate of the French Socialist Party and Radical Party of the Left for the 2017 presidential election.It will be the second open primary (primaires citoyennes) held by the socialist parties, after the primary in 2011, where François Hollande defeated Martine Aubry to become the Socialist Party nominee. Hollande went on to defeat incumbent president Nicolas Sarkozy in the 2012 presidential election.
